Cervical Screening Results – NHS App Update

From October 2025, the NHS Cervical Screening Programme will begin sending normal cervical screening results (where no further tests or referrals are needed) digitally through the NHS App.
If you have the NHS App, you will receive a notification when your result is ready to view.
If the message isn’t read within 72 hours, or if you don’t have the NHS App, a letter will still be sent to you by post as a backup.
Abnormal results that require further investigation will continue to be sent by letter for now.
Please note that if you have access to your GP health records through the NHS App, you may see your test result appear there before receiving your official message or letter.
We encourage all patients to download the NHS App and enable notifications to receive results quickly and securely.
