New Clinical System

14 January 2026

Change to Our Clinical Computer System

From Tuesday 14 January to Thursday 22 January, Firth Park Surgery will be transitioning from our current clinical computer system to a new one.

During this period, the practice will be operating at reduced capacity while the systems are changed over and staff are supported through the transition.

What this means for patients

  • Appointment availability will be limited
  • We will prioritise urgent medical needs
  • Some routine services may be temporarily reduced
  • Waiting times may be longer than usual
  • Electronic prescriptions will be temporarily unavailable

Prescriptions during this time

During the system change, we will not be able to send prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. If a prescription is needed, this will be printed and provided as a paper prescription, which you can take to a pharmacy of your choice.

This change is temporary and normal electronic prescribing will resume once the system transition is complete.

This change is necessary to support the long-term improvement of our services. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Normal service will gradually resume following this period as staff continue to familiarise themselves with the new system.
